Solar Power Grid Tie Systems Compared
It is true that the sun has enough power to run your electricity in your home or office. As a matter of fact there is enough power there to supply electricity to every household and business all over the globe! All you need to do is have access to the sun's amazing free power source. There are three primary systems used to harness the power of the sun to provide energy for your home or business. The three solar power grid tie systems are the grid tie, the grid-tie with battery backup and the off-grid solar powered system. Energy costs are soaring and almost everyone is looking for a better, more cost effective way to save their hard earned money on their electric bills. Besides having an inverter and solar panels properly set up you need to choose a solar power grid tie system.
* The solar power grid tie system is wired directly into your utility meter and breaker box and turns back the electrical usage on the meter. This is like "selling" back energy to the electric company when less energy is used than generated by the solar powered system. This system is the least expensive of the three basic systems and requires the least amount of maintenance. The only drawback to this system is that there is no battery backup to work when there is a power outage.
* The solar power grid tie with battery backup system works the same way as the above system except there is a battery backup to cover a power failure. Setting up this system requires supplies such as solar panels, an inverter, 12 volt batteries, battery charger and solar charge controller. This system requires a little more maintenance and costs a bit more, but it does provide backup for power failures.
* If you are in an area where electricity is not available you can use an off-grid system that works much the same way as the solar power grid tie system with the battery backup except you would use a special off grid-inverter instead of the regular inverter. In some cases generators are used as backup where there is more wattage than the system can carry.
New technology has provided better ways for setting up any solar power grid tie system for your home. These can be used as an indoor and an outdoor energy source that will save you tons of money on your electric bills. You will see results the first month you use solar power for your home. You can shop and compare for solar power kits online and find the best prices.
