While installing solar tube lights and skylights may not save you as much as a fully functional solar panel system, it still will save you enough to help.

Installation Tips

Remember any time you are installing solar tube lights and skylights make sure you have the proper measurements for each room or space you are going to put them. You can get all the information you need about solar power systems and solar power skylights and other lighting online. Shopping and comparing online is a good investment of your time as it will allow you to find the best deals on any solar kit you need for your home or business.

A Nice Tax Break for Users of "Green Energy"

By installing solar tube lights you are bringing the sunshine into your home in a very powerful way. Using the sun to power your home lighting can save you quite a bit of money. It can be the first step in turning your home into a fully solar powered home with solar panels as well. The government may even have a small tax credit for installing solar powered equipment for your home or business. You can check the Internet to find out if that tax credit is still available to you.

I'm with Gerard on the solar tube, I saw one of these in a friends house and had no idea it wasn't just a powerful light bulb! There are these covers used for defusing the light so when you look at it in any room it just looks like a normal light, it puts off a lot of light too. We were thinking about putting in a couple, they seem pretty easy to install and don't use up a lot of room like a window skylight which I also don't like because it lets in UV light (the solar tube doesn't the diffuser also blocks the UV rays!

When I was younger I rented a room in this house and they had one of those solar tube lights in the bathroom. I thought it was a real light until my roommate told me it was a solar light. I was impressed with how bright it was. When i bought my first house i remembered this and had one installed in the kitchen. Its funny that i found this site. Good info.
